Offsetting the units making the north units visible to the street allows presence on the streetscape. This design creates a more open and welcoming front elevation. In function, the pathway between the duplexes results in smooth circulation from the front of the lot to the rear, with access to all four units. The roof wraps around the outer (East & West) walls of the buildings to make a unified form. The roofs slope towards the sides, resembling a gable house split at the middle.

UNIQUE FEATURES

In form, the two duplex units together create a silhouette very similar to the existing house and primarily face toward E 19th Ave, displaying how the two separate buildings have a cohesive design on one lot.
